Daily Trust noticed many students at the university’s old campus waiting to board buses to the new campus.
At the old campus, students were seen attending lectures while most car parks were full with cars belonging to students and lecturers.
Abdullah Adamu, a student told our correspondent that most students have resumed and lectures have already commenced in earnest.
He said that students have resumed in preparation for their examinations coming up in two weeks’ time. He affirmed that, “more than 90 percent of the students in BUK have resumed and lectures have commenced. I was not able to leave the campus yesterday till evening because of lectures,” said Adamu.
He added that students have no reason to stay at home after the resumption because they had wasted time during the strike and exams would be coming up in two weeks’ time.
Another student, Sagir Bello, said, “There is no reason for any student to delay his coming back to the university because of the long time he spent at home doing nothing during the strike period.”
Hajia Asabe M. Abdullahi said she thanked God when she learnt about the resumption, saying though she has no son or daughter studying in the university, she was disturbed with the long strike and felt delighted that the students were going back to complete their studies.
She said she was not optimistic about ending strike in Nigeria as according to her the way government is handling things in the country, there is no sign that strike will end in Nigeria.
