Reports had it that the former Nasarawa United coach was attacked by yet to be identified men after a goalless draw in the NPFL match day 13 clash in Ibadan.
An official of the side, Jubril Arowolo said the management has confirmed the off the pitch attack on Ikhana after thorough investigation and has mapped out plan to fish out the culprit for deserving punishment.
“We have confirmed the alleged attack on Enyimba head coach, Kadiri Ikhana by disgruntled element.
“This was after a thorough investigation from various quarters and concerted efforts are ongoing to apprehend the culprit(s).
“The person(s) will be immediately handed over to the police for prosecution aimed at deterring and discouraging any would-be attackers.
“We wondered what could have prompted the assault on Ikhana with the friendly way the visitors were applauded on arrival and after the game.
“We want to submit that the attack must have been sponsored by person (s) bent on bringing the name of the club to disrepute.
“We have reached out to the Enyimba to express our displeasure with what happened as well as assured that no effort will be spared toward arresting the offender (s).
“Enyimba have been helpful in our effort to identify the person (s) involved, both clubs are brothers and we will stop at nothing to protect the long standing and healthy relationships,” said Arowolo to supersport.com.
The draw against Enyimba has taken 3SC total earnings to 13 from possible 39 with a match at hand against Warri Wolves.
