The ActionAid Nigeria (AAN) has said that funding was a major challenge for women’s right movement in Nigeria and must be addressed.

The AAN Country Director, Andrew Mamedu, said this on Thursday in Abuja at a National Dialogue on investing to prevent violence against Women and Girls in commemoration of the 2023 16 days of Activism against Gender Based Violence organised by AAN and other partners.

He also expressed concern that in Nigeria, it has been a struggle and few organisations has the means to set aside funds for women’s rights intervention despite its importance.

On assessment of Gender Base Violence (GBV) so far, Mamedu said Nigerians are beginning to see more perpetrators answering to the law.
