Miracle won a gold medal at last year’s edition which was held in Ilorin, Kwara State, and won double gold medals this year.

This feat, according to the association, is unique and calls for good support for the young talent to have the enabling environment to be nurtured into a star that would represent the nation at the international level.

The association that brought Miracle’s issue to the front burner at their meeting in Jos, the Plateau State capital, said there is every need to support Miracle in transforming into a great professional because she has shown a spectacular Taekwondo skill that is rare, not only in the nation but even in other climes.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Plateau State Taekwondo Association, Navy Commander Joseph Golu (rtd), said Miracle’s remarkable triumph is due to her commitment to excellence, and therefore needs to be supported by the Plateau State government, well-meaning individuals and the federal government as well so that she can advance her talent beyond this level into international limelight.

“Undoubtedly, Miracle Andrew has become a shining star, representing the resilience, determination, and undeniable talent that reside within the Nigerian sporting community.

“The remarkable display of talent and perseverance of this 15-year-old Taekwondo prodigy from Jos, Plateau State, has astounded the nation by winning not one, but two gold medals at the highly esteemed Nigerian Youth Games held in Asaba, Delta State, in September 2023. 

The chairman pointed out that even her coaches have praised her unbridled work ethic, ability to assimilate all instructions, and her desire to push against all odds to meet training demands, including getting up early and trekking long distances to attend training. 

On his part, the association’s Public Relations Officer, David King, described Miracle as an extraordinary individual who has already left an indelible mark on the world of martial arts with her astonishing achievements. 

He said due to her exceptional skills, unwavering determination, and commitment to her craft, she was able to emerge victorious in both the poomsae and -47kg events, thereby captivating spectators and leaving her competitors in awe.
