Police in Anambra State have arrested a three-man syndicate that allegedly abducted and raped a 24-year-old lady (name withheld) under pretext of securing job for her.
The men repeatedly raped the woman in captivity after taking N400,000 in ransom from her family.
According to Mohammed, on Sep 19, SARS operatives in Awkuzu, Oyi council area arrested Ekwugha Innocent Chinazo , 25, Chidiebere Ogoegbunam, 24 and David Nnaemeka, 19, all of the same address.
They had lured the 24-year-old, residing at St Micheal hostel Temp site Awka under the pretext of securing for her a beauty make up job, picked her up at Ukpo junction along Enugu- Onitsha Expressway and taken her to an isolated building at Awkuzu where they allegedly raped the victim repeatedly while in captivity for two days despite collecting ransom N400,000 from her relatives.
He said the suspects have voluntarily confessed to the crime and the victim was taken to the hospital for medical examination.
