The Minister of Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva and other African energy ministers are set to converge in South Africa and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for energy conferences.

First is the African Energy Week (AEW) holding in Cape Town from the 9th to 12th of November which unites African ministers, oil and gas executives, and national and international energy companies for four days of networking and deal-making.

After the meeting at Cape Town, African energy ministers will travel to the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company hosted (ADIPEC) forum in UAE, slated for 15th to 18th November.

AEW is the first pan-African event to take place in Africa in 2021, said a statement by the organizers. It provides a platform for a collaborative discussion on Africa’s energy future.

The ADIPEC forum is a platform for the discussion on Africa’s energy landscape, with a dedicated ‘Focus on Africa’ session, led by African energy Ministers, offering up key insight into Africa’s post-pandemic energy outlook.

Among the other expected participants are Gabriel Lima of Equatorial Guinea and Jaden Hassan of Sudan.

AEW 2021, in partnership with South Africa’s Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE), is the AEC’s annual conference, exhibition and networking event, just as ADIPEC hosts over 160 conference sessions, showcasing 26 country pavilions, and exhibiting over 2,000 companies.
