Yajir told journalists that the governor wants him knocked out so he (the governor) would capture Gboko for his re-election. The former chairman said, “As a staunch supporter of Senator George Akume, the governor asked me to choose between he (Suswam) and the senator. But I told him point blank that I will remain loyal to the senator. That was why I was branded a disloyal chairman and the plan to frustrate me began.”
Yajir who said the governor used to visit Gboko without his knowledge, described reasons for his suspension as flimsy and baseless.
He described the Suswam administration as a failure because industries and institutions of higher learning in the state have been closed, infrastructures are steadily decaying and seeds of discord are continuously being sown among the people.
The former council boss was suspended by the state assembly over allegations of fraud and high-handedness.
