The Comptroller Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone B, Kaduna, has handed over two suspects arrested in possession of 167 parcels of substance suspected to be cannabis to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Kaduna State.
The suspects – Mr Monday Ike and Mr Emeka Akwali, were arrested in one Honda Accord vehicle with registration number AEE 132 AA by officers of Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone B along Zaria-Kaduna expressway at about 1410hrs following credible information received.

A statement issued on Friday by the FOU Public Relations officer ASCI Mailafiya Magaji said the Comptroller Albashir Hamisu handed over the suspects to NDLEA State Coordinator Uche Iyke at the unit’s headquarters in the state.
According to him, the Comptroller while handing over the suspects with the items tasked the NDLEA to further investigate the suspects with the aim of uncovering all those behind the illicit trade, and further called on the general and trading public to work with Customs to report criminal activities across the zone.
In his response, NDLEA State Commandant Uche Iyke assured the Comptroller of diligent investigation to unravel those behind the suspected substances. He also thanked him for the synergy between the Agency and Customs in the state.
