Two suspected kidnappers who allegedly abducted their victim at gunpoint and took her away in their Volkswagen Golf car registration number KRD 845EC were yesterday remanded in prison custody.

Justice Adedayo Akintoye of the Lagos High Court, Igbosere, handed down the remand order yesterday, following the arraignment of Sunday Igwe, 29, and 22-year-old Onwe Chukwuemeka.

Igwe and Chukwemeka, who, the Lagos State government charged with conspiracy and kidnapping, pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Mr Yusuf Sule, informed the court that the defendants and some other suspects still on the run conspired to commit the alleged offences on January 10, 2018 at United Bus Stop, Lekki-Ajah, at about 8pm.

Sule said the accused persons, while armed with a locally made single-barrel pistol, kidnapped Mrs Mildred Mbajiorgu and took her to their hideout along the Epe-Lekki expressway.

Justice Akintoye adjourned the case till February 1, 2020 for hearing.
