A mob on Tuesday burnt alive a middle aged man and his car over suspicion of him being a member of a kidnapping gang.

The incident took place at Mulero Bus Stop in Agege area of Lagos.

A second victim was, however, rescued by the police after he was injured severely.

A witness explained that the victims were driving in a Volkswagen Golf when they were accosted by the mob.

The state’s police spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, who confirmed the incident, said the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Hakeem Odumosu, had ordered thorough investigation into the attack.

Adejobi stated that the deceased and his Gulf car were burnt beyond recognition by the mob.

Adejobi further said the CP condemned the act of jungle justice.
