A mild-drama played out on Tuesday after a yet to be identified man who allegedly stole a ram abandoned it and escaped upon sighting the owner at Abaji cattle market in the Federal Capital Territory.
A witness, Shuaibu Ibrahim, who said the incident happened around 11:12 am, alleged that the suspect stole the ram at a Fulani settlement in Adagba village of the council.
He said the owner of the ram raised an alarm after he discovered that one of his rams was missing and he quickly alerted some buyers at the market to keep eyes on anyone that might bring ram to sell.
According to him, when there was no immediate response, the owner decided to come down to the market, where he saw the suspect already negotiating to sell the stolen ram, adding that upon sighting the owner, the suspect abandoned the ram and escaped.
