President Muhammadu Buhari has warned bandits to either surrender their weapons, or face “disgraceful and violent ends’’.

President Buhari gave the warning on Thursday night during a meeting at the State House, Abuja, with Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State.

The President, in a statement issued on Saturday by his spokesman, Garba Shehu, said bandits, who had committed crimes against innocent citizens in the state, and across the country, would not be spared.

He said more decisive military operations against bandits in Zamfara, Sokoto, Niger, Katsina and Kaduna States would be undertaken.

He assured people and government of Katsina State of renewed efforts, and review of operations, to improve the security of lives and property in the state, and other parts of the country.

Buhari used the opportunity to condole with Gov Masari over the loss of lives from attacks by bandits, which included District Head of Yantumaki, Atiku Maidabino, and APC Chairman in Batsari Local Government Council, Abdulhamid Sani Duburawa.
