Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, on Sunday urged Nigerians to support the fight against insurgency by providing useful and accurate information to the armed forces and other security agencies.
Abiodun stated this at a Special Church Service to commemorate this year’s Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration, held at the Cathedral of St. Peter, Ake, Abeokuta, the state capital.

The governor who was represented by the Speaker of the state’s House of Assembly, Olakunle Oluomo, noted that the insurgency being waged by the Boko Haram and other insurgent forces would come to an end when accurate intelligence gets to the military high command.
According to him, the war being waged by the insurgent groups was quite different from conventional warfare, urging Nigerians to give the armed forces the needed support to win the war.
At a similar event in Port Harcourt, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, urged the federal government to initiate a special programme that will cater for the complete welfare of families of fallen heroes.
He said: “They laid down their lives to protect us. While some of us will be sleeping, they are busy, fighting to defend the country, the sovereignty of this country.”
