The restriction of movements in Sokoto State was not observed by many in the capital as cars, motorcycle and other vehicles were seen moving freely on some roads.
Our correspondent said many roads in the metropolis were very busy during the polls and no security presence was noticed.
This was unlike during the Presidential and Governorship polls when soldiers were at various point within the town, enforcing the restriction order.
A motorcyclists, who was carrying package of vegetables, said he learnt some people were moving freely and decided to deliver his vegetables to buyers at their locations.
“Since voting is not taking place in my area and where I am going to, I decided to continue my business instead of idling away,” he said.
The Sokoto state Police Command had, Friday, said there will be restriction of movements in all parts of the state from 6:00am to 6:00pm during today’s supplementary elections.
When contacted, Police Public Relations Officer Sokoto Command, ASP Abubakar Sadiq Muhammad said the Police had noted the non compliance to the restriction of movements by some and that they were doing their best to redress it.
“We have rightly observed that as well but we are doing our best to put an end to it,” he said.
