Nasarawa United wonder-kid, Mohammed Shammasu, has said the ‘solid miners’ are not going to leave Nnewi empty handed as they visit Enugu Rangers in their NPFL week 13 fixture.
Speaking to Daily Trust ahead of today’s match at the FC IfeanyiUbah stadium, the 18-year old striker said Nasarawa United have put behind them the 1-1 draw at home against Sunshine Stars.
He said even as the players came under heavy criticism by their teeming fans, the confidence level in the camp of Nasarawa United is still high as they go up against one of the oldest clubs in Nigerian football.
“We know what we are faced with but there is no cause for alarm. We have put behind us the unfortunate situation in our match against Sunshine Stars. This is a new challenge and we are focused on it.
“Our target is to return to Lafia with the maximum points. If we can’t achieve that, then we shall fight for at least a draw. We drew at Heartland so this type of challenge is not new to us.
“I am ready to give my all, if called upon to play. My fans call me super-sub and it motivates me. I hope to score again against Rangers tomorrow (today),” he said.
Shammasu, therefore, called on fans of Nasarawa United to pray for the team as they battle Enugu Rangers for the maximum points at stake.
