Super Falcons star striker, Francisca Ordega, is angry over the recent grand reception for KiddWaya, the son of billionaire, Terry Waya, who was a housemate in this year’s edition of Big Brother Naija, BBN, show.
On Friday, October 9, Terseer Waya, popularly called kiddWaya, and his fans literally shutdown Makurdi, the Benue State capital as he made a grand entry into the state from Abuja.
After driving round Makurdi town in a motorcade to give his teeming fans the opportunity to see him live, he was hosted in the Government House by the wife of the Benue State governor, Dr. Eunice Ortom.
Accompanied by his mother, Susan Terry Waya and other family members, KiddWaya was robbed in traditional attire as his host and other dignitaries poured encomiums on him for making the state proud.
However, the honour bestowed on the billionaire’s son didn’t go down well with Ordega who took to her Facebook page to express her anger.
Without mincing words, the Super Falcons star queried Benue people to explain to her why she never received such heroic welcome despite her exploits in football at the international level.
She wrote: “Hmmm Benue my people, [I] have been making you guys proud for the past 10 years till now and have never received this kind of home welcoming.
“Does that mean I am not loved/love by my own people?.
“Just curious…and some people will be asking what are you giving back to the society, your state, really?
“Or is it because I am a woman?
“I see ooo! wow and mind you, don’t come here and spit rubbish cos I will give you back,” she threatened.
Her reaction didn’t go unnoticed as one of Governor Samuel Ortom’s aides, Iorliam Shijah, responded to her outburst thus ” Ordega, that statement is needless. You are big.”
Another female Facebook user, Terna Iorpev wrote “See een! Sometimes education plays a big role in our outings (speech, thought, writing, etc). It’s rather unfortunate.”
On his part, Valeentine Iorlaha wrote “I thought the account is fake. Don’t want to believe it came from her.”
Without doubt, Ordega’s shocking reaction to KiddWaya’s reception has come to many as a rude shock because not long ago, she was hosted and honoured by the Benue State government for bringing honour to the state.
Along with Super Eagles midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi, the Super Falcons striker was given a standing ovation by members of the State Executive Council after which she posed for photographs with the Governor and other highly placed government officials.
While KiddWaya was hosted by the wife of the Governor in an informal setting, Ordega was given official recognition as she was received and honoured by the Governor himself, making many to wonder why she should be feeling undervalued.
