Samuel Chukwueze’s performance for Nigeria against Guinea-Bissau on Monday has led to the Villarreal wideman coming in for some stinging criticism among Super Eagles fans on Twitter.

Ebubechukwu Mgboji believes that Chukwueze’s desire to go it alone is costing the Eagles, and the Villarreal man should stick to his primary responsibility.

“Chukwueze just misses chances,” he wrote. “He isn’t a good finisher.

“He should focus more on assisting Osimhen.”

@Jimbababacfr called on Jose Peseiro to withdraw the attacker.

“Coach should sub Chukwueze in the second half asap,” he wrote. “He’s been selfish.

“Wasting away opportunities to score more goals. Osimhen was free but he blew it up.”

Temitope Matthias clearly feels particularly let down having expected such great things from the wideman.

“I think we actually overrated the Chukwueze guy,” they began. “We thought he would be Little Messi in 2019…now he keeps getting worse like Antony.

“Simple pass but selfishness has blinded his reasoning.”

@Dj_Flame18 appears to have identified Chukwueze as the latest Nigeria star to struggle to realise his club form when putting on the famous green of the Super Eagles.

“Chukwueze just forget how to play football when he puts on the Nigerian jersey,” he wrote.

Poor @TheRealOlagreat can’t get Chukwueze’s horror miss out of his head.

“Just thinking about that chance Chukwueze fluffed,” he wrote. “I refuse to laugh cos it’s annoying.”

Is anyone else struggling to forget that horrible moment!

@DfKenny01 has decided that he speaks for all of the Super Eagles supporters.

“I speak for all Nigerians when I say Samuel Chukwueze is a very, very poor footballer,” he posted.
