The monarch said this during an event on Thursday where instructional and reading materials were distributed to basic schools in Sokoto.
According to him, the sultanate council has placed high premium on girl-child education because of the important role women play in building the society.
He also advocated for a curriculum that would produce skilled students who could stand on their own after graduation.
Represented by the Wazirin Sokoto, Professor Sambo Wali Junaidu, Sultan noted that “if you provide free education to girls the sky will be their limit.”
On teachers, Sa’ad said timely payment of gratuities of retired teachers would encourage those on active service to give their best.
Responding , Governor Aminu Tambuwal said the government had been paying much attention to girls education and that was why it established Agency for Girls Education headed by a special assistant.
“We still support mothers who send their daughters to school and many girls schools were established in the state,” he said.
The governor also said hundreds of millions of naira were set aside for the payment of teachers’ gratuities.
