The Chairman of Sultan Bello Mosque Management Committee, Alhaji Sa’idu Aliyu Kakangi, is dead.

He died on Monday in Kaduna.

His funeral prayer, which was held at the premises of Sultan Bello Mosque on Monday, was led by the Imam of the mosque, Dr. Suleiman Adam.

He was buried at the Isa Kaita Muslim cemetery according to Islamic rites.

Among the dignitaries that attended the prayer was a former governor of Kaduna State, Dr. Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, Dr. Ahmad Gumi, Sheikh Yusuf Sambo Rigachikun and a former Imam of the mosque, Abdulhamid Balele Wali.

The Chairman of Yahaya Road Mosque, Alhaji Garba Ibrahim, who was at the funeral, described the death of Kakangi as a loss to the Muslim Ummah (community).

He said, “Two weeks ago, the deceased met me and said to me, ‘let us be meeting from time to time to exchange views and share ideas on how our mosque will progress’, I never knew that will be the last time I will see him.”.

A former Imam of the mosque, Abdulhamid Balele Wali, described the deceased as a good man who respected everybody and dedicated his time to Islam.

He prayed to Allah to forgive his shortcomings and admit him into Jannatil Firdaus.

On his part, Assistant Organizing Secretary of the mosque committee, Malam Ibrahim Dalhatu, said, “Since his emergence as Chairman of the management committee, he made sure every activity went on well for the smooth running of all affairs in the Masjid. I pray Allah grants him paradise.”
