Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State has said the 2023 succession plan will not derail him from completing the ongoing projects.
He spoke on Tuesday in Uyo during an interaction with some journalists, saying he would not allow the issue of succession to distract him as only God can decide who succeeds him in 2023.
The governor maintained that his administration has no plan to impose a surrogate on the people.
He assured that when the time comes, the people would be allowed to freely choose their next governor.
He said the government would not handle the ongoing projects in a haste to avoid possible danger for the people in the future.
He expressed his commitment to providing solid infrastructure for the state that would stand the test of time.
