The Kano State Chapter of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC has described the government’s decision to reverse the plan to increase the pump price of petrol as a victory for Nigerians.
Briefing journalists in Kano, the state NLC chairman, Kabiru Ado Minjibir described the decision as a victory for Nigerian workers and the people in general.
Daily Trust reports that the Kano State chapter of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) had recently declared their readiness to join the planned nationwide protest against the federal government.
The labour bodies have vowed to reject plans by the federal government to remove fuel subsidies.
The Kano NLC Chairman, Kabiru Ado Minjibir, made this known while addressing members of the state Congress.
