Subsidy removal affecting our operations – FRSC

The commandant of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) in Kwara State, Frederick Ade Ogidan, has disclosed that the fuel subsidy removal is affecting the operations of the command.

He, however, said the command is getting the necessary attention and response from the headquarters to perform better than before.

The commandant disclosed this in Ilọrin during the conferment of Special Marshal on the Founder of Al-Hikmah University, Alhaji AbdulRaheem Oladimeji.

According to him, “the subsidy removal has increased our budget and limited our movements which has affected our operations.

“However, the good story is that the issue is already getting attention and necessary response from the headquarters. Very soon, we are expecting an increase in our finances following the assurance from the Corp Mashal, Dauda Ali Biu.”

He said the command is ready to establish a road safety unit close to the university to improve the traffic situation in the area.

Ogidan said Special Marshal honours are reserved for special people in the country which the Founder happens to be one.

Speaking during the occasion, Alhaji Oladimeji thanked the FRSC for the honour, adding that he would continue to do more to promote and support the activities of the FRSC across the country.
