A passionate call has been made on the government to subsidize food and important consumables during Ramadan.
The Chairman of the Foundation, Malam Aliyu Sidi Attahiru made the call during a chat with media executives in his office.
“People always put the blame of high rise of commodity price on marketers or businessmen. What people fail to understand is most of those businessmen are forced to make the prices higher based on prices from where they purchased the goods.
“But with government subsidizing the commodities, things will be a little cheaper or continue at normal prices,” he stressed.
He also called on wealthy individuals to remember the orphans and the less privileged during Sahur and Iftar and also in the day time, those that cannot afford to do the Fasting due to health conditions or age.
