Presenting the award to the management of the industry in Bauchi, the Assistant National Secretary of the Association, Comrade Umar Adamu Jibrin, said “Supercor was honoured as the best performing industry in the North-east sub region and Mr. Anup Kumar as the best performing MD because of their effort in developing the state and country at large.”
He said NANS committee for the award nominated the company after a thorough screening of companies and industries in all the six states in the region comprising Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe states.
The managing director of Supercor Industries Limited Mr. Anup Kumar Baruah said the company was incorporated in 1974 as Joint Ventures between Bauchi state government and M/S Hydrabad Industries Limited (HIL), Flagship Company of the multi-billion USD CK Birla Group and formerly known as the market leader in fibre cement industries founded in the year 1946.
Baruah added that other co-investors include Bank of Industries, (BoI) Nigerian National Development Company (NNDC), Gombe state government and some individuals.
He said the company has not stopped since it started production over 30 years ago, adding that Supercor is planning to expand its activity to other parts of the country.

Mr. Baruah said that the advantage of Supercor green ceiling boards over all other ceiling boards include:  No heat transmission, Fire resistant, leakage proof, termites proof, convertibility, weather proof,  weather friendly and above all non corrosive.
He said the company has 90% local content as raw material and about 250 member workforce.
 He thanked the association for deeming it fit to honour the company.
