The Egbura National Students Association (ENSA), Federal College of Education (FCE), Okene, Kogi State chapter, has called on the chairman of Kogi-Kotonkarfe local government Council, Alhaji Isah Abdulkarim, to Set up a skills acquisition programme for women in the area.
The vice president of ENSA, Maimunat Abdulrahman, made the call when she led some executives of the body on a courtesy call to the chairman.

She said a skill acquisition programme would go a long way to alleviate and tackle unemployment in the area.
She said majority of residents, especially vulnerable people and widows, will benefit from the skills acquisition, which would help them to be self-reliant.
Responding, the council chairman, Alhaji Isah Abdulkarim, said that his administration was already collaborating with Actionaid Nigeria to organise a skills acquisition training for women and youths across the council.
He urged them to face their studies and shun any social vices such as examination malpractice and cultism.
The chairman assured them that his administration was making effort to come up with a scholarship scheme for indigent students of the local government in various tertiary institutions across the country.
