Police in Zamfara State have arrested two students over plans to abduct their colleagues in two colleges in the state, the state commissioner of police Mr Hussaini Rabiu disclosed on Friday.
Briefing newsmen in Gusau, Mr Rabiu said a letter in respect of the threat to abduct Rev. sisters and students of Dominican College located at Sha’ iskawa quarters, Gusau, was found close to the suggestion box of the college.

“On receipt of the complaint, police detectives were deployed and they were able to apprehend one Donatus Ejeh as the principal suspect and upon interrogation, he was discovered to be an SS3 student of the college,” he said.
“Similarly, highly frightened principal of the Federal Government College Anka reported to the DPO Anka division that an unknown person called her and demanded the sum of N3 million or they would storm the school and attack students.”
The police also said one Tukur Bashir was arrested in Bakura Local Government Area and an SS1 student and suspected collaborator.
Meanwhile, the command said they had arrested 45 people in connection with the blockade of Gusau-Sokoto highway twice in one week and found on them jerry cans of petrol with the intent to burn vehicles of commuters plying the road.
