A 20-year-old man, Abdullahi Nura, on Thursday, appeared before a Karu Grade I Area Court, Abuja, for allegedly abducting his 16-year-old girlfriend for sexual exploitation
The prosecution counsel, Ayotunde Adeyanju, told the court that the complainant, Balogun Kehinde of Karu reported the matter at the Karu Police Station on October 6.

Adeyanju told the court that the defendant abducted the complainant’s daughter in September, and that the complainant discovered his daughter on October 18, with Nura, who claimed she was her boyfriend.
During police investigation, the prosecutor said the defendant confessed to the crime and that the offence contravened the provisions of Section 273 of the Penal Code. In court, Nura pleaded not guilty.
The judge, Inuwa Maiwada, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case to November 9. (NAN)
Similarly, a Kaduna chief magistrates’ court, on Thursday, ordered that a 30-year-old farmer, Ishak Aminu, who allegedly defiled his neighbour’s five-year-old daughter, be remanded in a correctional centre.
The police charged Aminu, who resides in Durumi Village of Makarfi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, with defilement.
The Chief Magistrate, Benjamin Hassan, did not take Aminu’s plea for want of jurisdiction to entertain the matter and ordered the police to return the case file to the Kaduna State Director of Public Prosecution for legal advice and adjourned the matter to November 17.
Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Chidi Leo, told the court that Aminu committed the offence on October 28, in his residence.
Leo said Aminu lured the five-year-old girl into his room and defiled her and that the offence contravened the provisions of Section 209 of the Penal Code Law of Kaduna State 2017. (NAN)
