Student gets N2m scholarship in mpulse contest

Snow George, an SS3 student of Starville School Abuja has received a scholarship grant worth N2 million, a laptop and smartphone among other gifts after she became the Spelling Champion of the year in the MTN mPulse Spelling Bee Competition.

According to a statement, at the grand finale, which took place virtually recently, the 15-year old beat Ansel Ifelaja of MasterHill College, Lagos, with the correct spelling of the word “Doraphobia.”

“I am thankful to God, my teachers and parents for coaching me through this building process. It was challenging as I had to learn new words daily. I am truly grateful to MTN for providing me with the platform to showcase something I enjoy,” George said.

The contest is one the initiatives by MTN mPulse, for young students aged nine to 15 years to enhance their learning capacity and personal development through friendly competition.
