The father, Mr Philip, said, “We are shocked because Mercy is never known for staying away from home except only when she goes to school as a boarding student.

“She is a decent and disciplined girl who never leaves home except for church. I am very sure wherever Mercy is right now she will be so disturbed about us for staying away from home.”

He further said, “The class teacher who insisted Mercy attended the conference told us that she was one of the fellowship officials. He begged us that we should not stop her from participating in the conference.

“We have reported the matter to the police. We are praying that God should spare and deliver Mercy wherever she is right now.”

Meanwhile, the parents called on anyone who had knowledge of her whereabouts to contact the following numbers: 08064180405 and 08036929807 or the nearest police station.

When contacted on phone on the matter, the police spokesman in the state, DSP Ramhman Nanse, said, “The command does not know if the incident was reported at any of the police stations in the state.”
