A 24-year-old female student, Jamima Shetima Balami, has reportedly committed suicide in Adamawa State after her lecturer boyfriend allegedly decided to terminate the friendship.
The late Jamima was a National Diploma (ND) II student of mass communication at the Federal Polytechnic, Mubi, and was doing her Industrial Training (IT) at the Adamawa Television (ATV) in Yola at the time of her death.

The late Ms Balami, who hailed from Garkida in Gombi LGA, was found dead in her house in Vinikilang, also known as Hayin Gada, in Girei LGA, after she reportedly ingested a poisonous substance suspected to be rat poison.
City & Crime learnt that Balami’s boyfriend, who is a lecturer with the Modibbo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH), Yola, asked her to end their relationship.
The spokesman of the police in the state, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, who confirmed the incident to City & Crime on Monday, explained that the matter had two versions, but that the police would investigate.
