Student attempts suicide at Kubwa

A source close to the family said that the victim, a polytechnic undergraduate, drank a poisonous substance over some misunderstanding with her mother who rebuked her.
The source said the girl’s mother had repeatedly accused her of disrespect, warning her of talking to her in a manner that not even her older siblings dared do.
According to the source, the victim, on that fateful day, dashed into the kitchen and drank rat poison.
City News further learnt that her relations quickly took her to the Kubwa General Hospital where she is being treated.
When contacted, the head, Accident and Emergency unit of the hospital, Paul Olise, said the patient was brought in a restless state, with thick saliva coming out from her mouth, but said she is responding to treatment.
