Storm has wreaked havoc on properties worth millions of naira at Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, in Wednesday’s night rain.
The heavy rain which lasted for about 45 minutes damaged the roofs of the multipurpose hall, academic affairs complex, faculty of science complex and faculty of financial studies building.

Other buildings are the directorate of general studies, computer science lab, central admin block, a section of the bursary, department of business administration and the Students Work Industrial Experience Scheme (SIWES) Office.
About 12 electric poles and cables were damaged by the storm.
The Rector, Dr. Woye Olaniran lamented that the disaster was unprecedented in the history of the institution.
He pleaded with the state government and National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to assist the institution.
