Stop politicizing insecurity, Gov Aliyu Warns opposition

Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State has warned individuals or groups to desist from politicizing the security situation in the state.

He handed down the warning during a thank you visit to Goronyo local government area on Saturday.

“Security is a sensitive matter that affects us all, and we will not tolerate any attempt to exploit it for political gain.”

“I therefore, urge everyone to refrain from making inflammatory statements or taking actions that could compromise the safety of our citizens,” he further warned.

The governor, however, emphasized that security is a collective responsibility, thus required cooperation from all stakeholders.

“We will not tolerate anyone trying to politicize security issues and will take necessary measures to prevent such actions from jeopardizing the peace and stability of our dear state,” the Governor added.

He appealed to the public to report any suspicious activities or individuals to the relevant authorities and to work together to maintain peace and harmony in Sokoto State.
