Stop meddling into our affairs, Rivers APC cautions Fubara

Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Chief Tony Okocha, has accused Rivers State governor, Sir Similanayi Fubara of meddling into the affairs of the party in the state.

Chief Tony Okocha who spoke with newsmen in Port Harcourt yesterday alleged that the governor was sponsoring some of the court cases pending against the APC in the state and urged him to refrain from such acts or face the wrath of God.

Chief Okocha wondered why Fubara should not use his powers to influence PDP, which he said gave him the platform to contest the governorship election rather than interfering with the operations of the APC in the state.

SPONSOR AD

He said, “I pray for him (Fubara) that he changes his style, otherwise, the wrath of God might descend.

“All this bragado he is navigating around APC, he would have used it to register himself. I thought he would have used all his powers as governor, all this influence to put himself back into the PDP. He is not a member of any political party.

“I can tell you if there is any election in the state he has no party because the party that would have sponsored him for the election, that is the PDP will never present him because he is not their member. Now he is in the business of trying to divide and rule and make a mess of the entire judiciary.”

But reacting, the Special Adviser to Governor Fubara on Electronic Media, Mr Jerry Omatsogunwa, said the governor is too busy to meddle into the affairs of the APC, adding that Fubara cannot in any way influence the judiciary against the party.

He said the governor is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and active member of the PDP Governors’ Forum and has been attending their meetings.

He advised Chief Okocha to obey court orders and stop blaming the governor for his “party’s woos” in the state.
