Stop handing over injured suspects to us, police warn

The Oyo State Police Command yesterday warned men of the state security network and other sister security outfits to desist from handing over suspects with injuries to the force.

Police said some suspects arrested and brought to the station by other security operatives were being brought in terrible health conditions and not admissible for detention.

The state commissioner of police, Joe Nwachukwu Enwonwu, who spoke through the command’s spokesperson, Olugbenga Fadeyi said many times, the police would not have an option than to ask for the treatment of such suspect before further action.

“The Commissioner of Police wishes to inform the leaders and by extension men of various security operatives within the state to desist from high handedness and treatment of suspects with antipathy, inflicting serious bodily damages that often times result in death,” he said.
