The North Central All Progressive Congress (APC) Forum has warned the Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, against his actions which the forum said are tearing the party apart.
This follows the crisis that has been rocking the Benue State chapter of the APC.
Speaking with newsmen in Jos the Plateau State capital at the weekend on the issue, the forum’s Chairman, Saleh Mandung Zazzaga, described the governor’s attitude as unworthy, and that his action has not only been destabilizing only the party, but the state at large.
The Chairman said worse still is that the governor’s attitude is already constituting disrespect not only to his political benefactor and other party leaders but to President Bola Tinubu as well.

He pointed out that the governor’s failure to honour the peace initiatives organized by the president to resolve the crisis in the Benue APC had shown his disrespect and unwillingness to settle the contending issues.
Zazzaga stressed that disrespect for the president of the country who is also the leader of the APC which is the platform on which the governor won the 2023 election is totally unacceptable.
He said apart from the President, the governor has also rejected all the attempts by stakeholders of the party, including federal legislators, and the paramount ruler in the state, among others.
According to him, the governor from the onset began to disrespect and quarrel with his political benefactor and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, saying that it was an indication of his ungratefulness and that he was obviously biting the fingers that fed him.
However, Zazzaga said the North Central APC will not fold its hands to allow the governor to continue destabilising the party in the state which is in the North Central region, and that if he does not retrace his steps, several actions could be taken against him.
“Governor Alia should remember that he did not win the governorship election on his own accord, but with the support of others. Therefore the governor needs to respect the APC leaders, the President, the SGF and other party stakeholders.
“If the governor does not stop his unbecoming attitude towards the leaders of the party and towards the general interest of the party, he will begin to lose his strong footing and the support he has hitherto been enjoying from all and sundry across the party, ” Zazzaga said.
