The equities market closed yesterday on a negative trend, as market capitalisation depreciated by N78 billion.
The NSE All Share Index also depreciated by 228.98 points, represented 0.96 per cent to close at 23,605.89 basis points, compared with the 0.03 per cent appreciation recorded previously.
The year to date returns stood at -17.58 per cent.
Market breadth closed negative as Seplat Petroleum Development Company led 10 gainers against 28 losers topped by Unilever Nigeria at the end of the trading, which was an unimproved performance when compared with previous outlook.
Market turnover closes positive as volume surged by 319.28 per cent against 19.56 per cent uptick recorded in the previous session. The Guaranty Trust Bank, FBN Holdings and Wema Bank were the most active to boost market turnover. Wema Bank and Guaranty Trust Bank top the market value list.
Wema Bank leads the list of active stocks that recorded impressive volume spike at the end of the trading.
