Stock broking firm gets new MD

A stock broking firm, Meristem Stockbrokers Limited has appointed Mr. Saheed Adewale Bashir as its managing director/chief executive officer following the exit of Mr Oluwole Abegunde.

Abegunde, according to a statement from the firm, was the immediate past chief executive officer of the company.

Bashir holds a degree in Economics from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife.

Also, he is an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS).

Before his appointment, he had worked with the company in various capacities.

The statement added that the company was seeking the approval of the relevant regulatory agency for his appointment. Also, the statement said that any objection to his appointment should be forwarded to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) within seven days.
