It is about four months since the public complaints about the fate of 218 medical assistants in Yobe State. The Yobe State government is yet to respond to the complaints by approving the conversion of their engagement into permanent employment.

The state government had earlier agreed to employ them under its Hospital Management Board. The failure to implement the agreement has left the assistants wondering.

The health sector is very important to the state and its citizens, hence the need to employ such professionals to assist in boosting the health of the citizens.

I will appeal to the state government to implement the agreement because the state needs all hands to ensure health service delivery to its citizens.

Furthermore, by implementing the agreement, the government would be exhibiting a sense of fairness to its citizens and ready to adhere to the rule of law.
