Barca still hold an interest in Sterling despite signing his Man City teammate Ferran Torres for €55m earlier this week.
According to The Athletic, via the Daily Mirror, Torres helped Sterling learn Spanish during his time at the Etihad Stadium, with the pair frequently speaking the language together.
Pep Guardiola is keen to keep hold of the forward, but will not stand in his way should he decide to seek pastures new in either January or the summer of 2022.
Sterling, who has 18 months remaining on his contract, has recently enjoyed an impressive spell in the first team for the Citizens, scoring eight goals in his last 10 appearances across all competitions.
