Stephanie Okereke-Linus is back with a new project after her last full-length film in 2014.

The upcoming film, When Women Were Counted, is based on the 1929 Aba women’s riot.

It focuses on the lives of the courageous women who led a widespread uprising at the time against the regulations enforced by British colonial officials in southeast Nigeria.

Their valiant efforts ultimately compelled the government to accede to their demands, resulting in the inscription of their names in history books for all time to honour and remember.
