The Kano State Police Command has reiterated that the ban on commercial motorcycles in the state’s metropolis remains in place, warning riders relocating from Lagos State to stay clear of Kano city.
Daily Trust reports that following the ban on Okada activities in Lagos, many of the riders have been relocating to other cities.

However, in a statement on Thursday by the spokesman of the Kano Police Command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Commissioner of Police, Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, directed all Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) within Kano metropolis to continue to enforce the ban.
He said this was in line with the command’s effort to ensure stability, safety and security of the good people of the state.
The statement reads in part: “Any individual or group that violates this ban will be arrested and prosecuted before the court of law. Road users are advised to abide by traffic rules and regulations.”
