The head coach of Stationery Stores, Shakiru Lawal, has admitted his team put up a good fight but lost the week 11 NNL football encounter to the home team, Rovers FC of Calabar due to inexperience.

He spoke at the end of the gruelling encounter at the UJ Esuene Stadium where the football duel held.

Rovers FC beat the visiting Stationery Stores FC by 1-0.

The home team had many good opportunities to push in more goals but neglected them.

Lawal said, “The costly mistake we made in our defence in the first half was a deficiency that cost us the match.

“Although we did our best, it was not good enough, we will go back home review the match and make some necessary corrections,” he said.

Also speaking to journalists, Samson Unuanel, technical adviser of Rovers of Calabar FC, said he was grateful to God that his team won.

The added that all that was important was the three points which his team secured.

Unuanel however complained bitterly following what he called poor officiating of the match.

“I face problems in away matches and at home, I am still facing problems, I can’t take it anymore.

“If the Government of Cross River is not ready to run its football well, they can tell me, so I pack my load and leave.

“I am not happy about the officiating of today’s game, we have played 10 matches here in Calabar but they all looked like away games.  we need to have a stakeholders meeting and ask relevant questions on how our matches are officiated,” he said.
