Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State has charged corps members deployed to the state to shun negative tendencies likely to create problems in the society.
He gave the charge during the swearing-in ceremony of 2023 Batch ‘C’ Stream I Orientation Course for corps members deployed to the state at the Nnamdi Azikiwe NYSC Unity Orientation Camp, Umuaeulu/ Mbakwu, Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State on Tuesday.
The governor, represented by his Chief of Staff, Ernest Ezeajughi said vices like cultism, drug addiction, substance abuse, cybercrime and kidnapping were negative tendencies capable of causing problems to the society.
Soludo also called on law enforcement agents, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, traditional rulers, town unions and faith-based organisations to join hands in vigorous campaigns to stamp out these vices in the society.

Similarly, the Edo State Commissioner for Youth and Humanitarian Affairs, Zubairu Abubakar, yesterday warned corps members posted to the state to shun cybercrimes and other vices as the state has zero tolerance for such societal vices.
In a related development, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has sworn in 4487 youth corps members, 2,064 males and 2,423 females for the 2023 Batch “C” Stream 1, orientation course at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Abuja.
Declaring open the ceremony yesterday, the FCT Minister of State, Mariya Mahmoud said the FCT administration was firmly committed to providing the needed enabling environment to keep the scheme viable and ensure the safety and welfare of corps members.
The FCT minister of State was represented by the Mandate Secretary, Social Development Service of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Honourable Ibrahim Aminu.
