Daily Trust gathered that already Senator Umar Almakura from Nasarawa State and George Akume from Benue State are contesting for the chairmanship from the same zone.
Speaking to newsmen on behalf of the stakeholders, Alhaji Abdulrahman Labo, who is also the forum’s North West Vice-Chairman, described Senator Sani as a grassroots politician who will work for the party’s victory come 2023.
“We, the leaders of APC Stakeholders Forum, in collaboration with some Civil Society Organisations, we are working tirelessly for the victory of the party and we also need a leader with reward system ideology like him that will recognize us and incorporate us into the government at the end of every election,” he said.
Labo also lamented that most of the supporter groups for APC in the previous elections didn’t benefit from any political appointment in the current administration, adding that they believed, with Senator Sani as chairman, every party member will be carried along.
The stakeholders also cautioned the youth against indulging in violence during elections.
