 Stakeholders in the healthcare sector have called for the upgrading of Healthcare Centers to International standard as one of the means of reducing Maternal and Neonatal death in the country. 

Jama’are local government area Health  Education Officer, Alhaji Sabo Buba made the call over the weekend at a five Day step down training on Male Engagement on Maternal and Neonatal Child Health Services. 

He said the introduction of Bauchi State Opportunities for Responsive Neonatal and Maternal Health, a Gender Transformative Project, has is helping towards addressing healthcare challenges being faced by women and children.

He added that, it has also improved the Healthcare status of communities benefiting from the project as it increased participation of pregnant women and their attendance to healthcare centers.

Buba calls for the provision of facilities in healthcare centers to ensure effective service delivery  in the health sector.

He commended Global Affairs Canada and Plan International for the funding of the Community Initiative for Promotion of Health and Education Sectors project and its effective implementation in the state. 

He assured that Jama’are Local Government Council would take proactive measures towards the sustenance of the project.
