Gunmen have shot dead a female SS3 student of Saint Monica’s Girls’ Secondary School in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State.
Our correspondent gathered from family sources that the victim, Charity Eze, was gunned down at about 10pm on Friday at her residence, No 38, Idikwu Road, Otukpo.

The student was said to have gone out to remove clothes lined on a rope in their compound when two gunmen who had scaled the fence shot her on the head severally.
A family source who craved anonymity, said, “The younger sister who witnessed the incident reported that the gunmen on sighting shot at her sister severally and thereafter told her that, ‘We have come for your father, and this is our message (pointing at the corpse of her sister)’ to her.”
The source noted that the victim was writing the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
Contacted, the police spokesperson in the state, Catherine Anene, said she was away from office and not disposed to react to any issue at the time of this report.
