Speakers urge due process in resolving Tangale chiefdom’s crisis

The Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria has called on the Gombe State Government to ensure that due process is followed in resolving the crisis surrounding the Tangale traditional stool.

The call was made by the Chairman of the conference and Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Y. Suleiman, during a sympathy visit to the Gombe State House of Assembly.

Rt Hon Suleiman said all the stakeholders and leaders in the state should ensure that at no cost of human life or loss of property the issue was resolved for peace to reign in the state.

He also called on all the parties to abide by the decision of the governor “who has the constitutional responsibility to install a new Mai Tangale for the chiefdom.”

He said the visit to the Gombe assembly was to sympathise with their colleagues and the entire people of the state over the crisis that erupted in Billiri LGA; seat of the traditional stool.
