The Southern Senators’ Forum has urged the Ekiti State government to immortalise the late Ekiti Assembly’s Speaker, Funminiyi Afuye, who died on Wednesday after a cardiac arrest.
The forum said the move became necessary in view of his great sacrifice and immense roles in the political development of Ekiti State before his demise.
- I was pressured to reject national honour – Kaigama
- At campaign launch: I’ll build an export-driven economy – Tinubu
The forum’s chairman and representative of the Ekiti Central Senatorial District, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, in a statement signed on behalf of the 51 senators, sympathised with the Ekiti State Government, Afuye’s family and political associates over the loss.
