The task force which recently took over the maintenance of law and order in Southern Kaduna said it has changed operational tactics to secure the troubled communities.
The Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) which has been in charge of the security situation in Plateau and parts of Bauchi State took control of the security in Kaduna’s four local government areas of Kaura, Zangon Kataf, Jema’a and Sanga from the 4 Battalion of 1 Division Kaduna after the battalion was nominated for assignments outside the country.
Speaking at a familiarization and introductory visit to the traditional rulers and local government council bosses in the areas, the OPSH Commander, Major General Rogers Nicholas, said they would make progress more than ever before since they had restrategised and identified the flash points and grey areas.
He said they had visited all the traditional rulers in their areas and that the traditional rulers were important in solving the Southern Kaduna crisis because they were in control of the grassroots and the locals.
Among the traditional rulers visited across the four LGAs in Southern Kaduna were the Chief of Numana in Sanga LGA, Gambo Makama, the Chief of Kagoro Dr Ufuwai Bonet, Dr. Tagwai Sambo of Moro’a, Nuhu Bature Agwan Baju, Alhaji Muhammadu Isah Muhammadu Emir of Jama’a and Retired Colonel Paul Zakka Nyom, Kpop Gwong.
